Obama in "free fall" among white voters. The White House plans an aggressive outreach program to get these voters back. The three step program, scripted by White House aids, will unfold as follows:
- Louis Gates and Jeanane Garofalo will go door to door. Gates will ask people to step outside after which he will insult their mothers. Simultaneously, Garofalo will scream that they are "stupid racists" and periodically bite the voter's shins until they promise to support Obama again. If they refuse to profess unyielding love for Obama...
- a 3 story Keith Olbermann balloon (think Macy's parade) will inflate on their lawn and repeatedly intone:
"Little worthless working class cracker! Yes you! YOU Are the WORST person in the World! Love Obama unconditionally or I will....uh....do something really...really....mean...like not invite you on my show! You are a racist who can not think for yourself!!! Unlike me who lives on the Upper West Side , so I must be smart! I speak to black people every day! I understand the black experience because I used to report on sports! Black people play sports! Listen to me and kiss Obama's feet, little cracker people! Ah hahahahahaha. I have no issue with women! ah hahahahahaha!!!!
The Olbermann balloon is programed to continue talking for 3 days after which all the hot air is expelled through the "anus" and the balloon deflates rapidly - flying wildly though the sky and moaning "I'm relevant! I'm relevant!", "Mommy, Mommy! Please don't hate me!" and "Must blame Palin. Palin Bad!!"
- Should these tactics fail to return the white household to the Obama fold, Black Panthers with machine guns will be placed outside the house. They will harass and intimidate all who enter or leave. A cardboard cut out of Eric Holder will be placed nearby...looking away.
Obama administration officials insist their plan is sound. When asked if poll numbers among whites might be falling because of policy or competence concerns, The Widow Gibbs, responded:
"No. Obviously anyone who thinks that is just stupid. This is about race. Everything is about race. No matter what. I think I should move on to a question that isn't asked by a moron. The President is confident he can get the "crackers back in the box" - as he put it - with his speech on Wednesday. Whitey loves it when a negro man gets wound up at a podium."
When the reporter followed up asking if that statement itself might be construed as racist, Gibbs said "No! You're A racist! You're a racist!! You're a racist!!! Infinity! " and walked off, ending the press conference.
The Hufpo/Geffen/Olbermann/Whole Foods pot heads went rabid last year on the Clintons like the far right did in the 90s. And for what? This half baked narcissist who is in bed with gay bashers, Goldman Sachs, and Big Pharma. Good call, Liberals!

President Obama is morphing into old rival Hillary Clinton
...(Obama) had a hard date for ending the war. Clinton repeatedly questioned the wisdom and sincerity of Obama's pledge to remove all combat troops from Iraq within 16 months of taking office. It was the biggest difference between the two candidates-and one of the top reasons Obama won the nomination.
I would argue BHO's Iraq lies were the main reason he garnered the Democratic support his did. All of those people were lied to. All of them.
We can argue about the reasons the DNC and the media gamed the process to ensure Obama got the nomination all we want. My opinion as to the main reason remains sexism. The only debate in my mind is whether sexism was the accelerant or the fire itself.
There were other elements in play to be sure. The Democratic elite's contempt for the Clintons (mirrored now by the GOP elite's contempt for Palin.) played a part. Nothing so satisfies the monkey brains on the Dean Left as much as a nice round of mindless Clinton bashing.
Additionally, race was used as a shiny toy flashed in front of the likes of Huffington and the MSNBC idiots. "Look he's Black!" Which was the modern version of "I'm not racist. I have black friends, I swear!"
But what under girded all of this was a bourgeois, largely unspoken and often unconscious fear of powerful women. I am sure Olbermann, Cafferty and Huffington don't think of themselves as bigots. But they are. It seeped through in broadcasts and posts throughout last year. "Bitch" was thrown about like confetti on Obamablogs. One has to wonder what would have happened if Obama had been referred to as a "spear chucker" on a Clinton blog. Even my visceral reaction to "spear chucker" is more pained and pronounced than it is to "bitch." Why? Both carry the same amount of vile meaning and stereotyping. I am as inured to the debasing of women as the next man. It is in the atmosphere of this culture. Sometimes it is the atmosphere.
It is still perfectly acceptable to attack a female politician by going after her gender. In fact, that is the first line of attack. Cold. Bitchy. Emotional. Whore. "Everyone's first wife." Obama even used "periodic" to imply Clinton was unstable. And on and on the Chris Matthews goombahs of the media elite went.
God Bless Hillary Clinton for fighting through. I mean that. God Bless Clinton.
I will never let up on this point. Clinton was better qualified, more honest (which is to say simply - she is honest and Barry is not) a real leader, and not a concocted brand spraying soothing lies across the land.
So John, you ask, if BHO has taken Clinton's stances what is the problem? The problem is - as it always has been - THE LIE. He was never vetted. He STILL hasn't been. He was not held to any of the standards Clinton was hammered with. His past was not questioned. His life was not questioned. To do so invited a scathing attack from the petulant media and Obama's Children of the Corn.
Obama was wheeled through the city gates as a great gift bestowed upon us. Once the battle was won out of the Obama Trojan Horse came Bush's policy on Iraq (Obama lied), the "brain" trust of Goldman Sachs, Rick Warren, Bush's bailout policy, phony "stress tests" for the banks, health care reform lead by the same people who created the mess, a coward on Gay rights, a "Constitutional scholar" who abrogates contracts that annoy him, a narcissist who won't or can't let another living soul take center stage even for a millisecond, and a tacky man who insults our closest allies.
Given the context of the times, Obama is not "historical" at all. He's run of the mill. Take away the "Obama show" we are force fed and the remainder of his Presidency so far is entirely expected. In fact, take the mind game a step further. Make BHO a white male in your mind's eye and play out his first 4 months. He becomes shatteringly mediocre. His race is still a bobble white liberals use to amuse themselves.
McCain would have passed a stimulus bill (smaller, but he still would have done it.) Clinton would have too. Any Democrat from Edwards to Richardson would be working on health care now. The fact that he is disinterested in and apologetic to a fault for American foreign policy should only shock the willfully moronic. Ditto for the Afghan policy. He's more conservative than Bush on the right of the Feds to intrude on privacy. Is this a surprise? It shouldn't be. He telegraphed it loudly last year by ditching FISA.
The "change" he promised is still in the form of a series of announcements. Anything that might remotely upset the status quo will remain in the form of an announcement. The Guantanamo "announcement" sounded good - except he forgot to form a policy before he went before the TV cameras. The "big change" in environmental policy is dying in the House as I type. The over the top fantasy budget WAS a bit unexpected but it is no where near becoming law so remains merely an announcement. His promises to gay Americans are lost in the Axelrod wilderness. 2 weeks ago he thumbed his nose at Armenians - apparently for sport.
The one big move I can say has surprised me a bit is his intrusion into Detroit. But I must follow quickly with - that intrusion is arrogant, and counter productive. His huffy attack on the hedge funds who want a fair deal and disregard for contractual law tells us much about the man's actual temperament.
This blog stated almost immediately that his "announcement" on torture was gamesmanship and would certainly end up being destructive. He will dodge this shot at his own foot only because Pelosi is an 8 on the hypocrite Richter scale and she has now run for cover.

In the 80s I knew a young man who walked up to Rita Moreno at a party and asked her is she ever thought about dancing and told her, with no irony or insult intended, that she might give it a try since she had the "look of a dancer". One of the more disturbing and reactionary aspects of the Obama Pods in 2008 was the ruthless and vicious mockery of Sarah Palin, even though Palin was clearly more qualified than Barack Obama. And, frankly, a much more decent person. Obviously. The joy the cocktail party liberal set took in trashing Palin and her family will forever be a putrid stain on feminism. Only the piggish, sexist behaviour toward Clinton by Keith Olberman, Chris Mathews, and the quintessential alimony feminist, Arianna Huffington, was more disturbing.
As I've said before I probably would not vote for her - and did not in 2008- as her views on certain issues are too far from mine. But her reaction to Obama's offensive crack about the Special Olympics reminds me why I liked her personally so much last fall. (5) has decided prisoners in America's Bagram military prison (in Afghanistan) have NO rights that he must respect
(6) uses the ruse of "state secrets" to terminate trials against those who are accused of torturing prisoners
(7) plans to destroy Social Security while calling it "reforming" Social Security
(8) nominates tax cheats and lobbyists to run government agencies
(9) refuses to allow prisoners in American jails to use DNA evidence to prove their innocence (even if they pay for the tests)
(10) uses fear to get his way by rushing legislation through Congress
(11) without Congressional authorization, Obama has ordered the bombing of a country we are NOT at war with (Pakistan)
(12) is stonewalling media requests for access to court records in the ongoing Guantanamo detainee litigation.

Not long ago many of us - including me - were committed to watching Countdown. It was the only "news" show that seemed willing to take on Bush and the deceits surrounding Iraq. For years CNN and Fox had repeated the standard Admin. pablum. Then a few books started trickling out indicating that the Iraq war was based in lies. Lies that W and Cheney knew about and perpetuated. Before Katrina, (B.K.) Countdown was usually the only American outlet that routinely counterpointed the Bush narrative.
I remember being happy and somewhat stunned when Olbermann called out W as a liar. He railed against the suspension of Habeus Corpus. Torture and the debasing of American values were rightfully grave concerns on the Left.
Then a funny thing happened on the way to the Obama coronation. The Left got drunk and opted to leave their principles by the side of the road. Olbermann became a rabid high priest of the Obamanation. Though infuriating, at least they could argue that Obama seemed like an agent of change - provided they did not dig too deep. On the surface they had a case.
They made excuses about FISA - which had been - only a months before - a central issue to the Left. They dressed up Obama's reversal on public financing as an exercise in "democracy." So stunningly cocky it tased every thinking person into silence.
Then Obama won. Since he's shoved the Left aside on nearly every issue. The economic team is D.L.C. Wall Street holdovers. The foreign policy team is loaded with hawks. Iraq will "take time". Not exactly what Obama ran on. And of course, gay people need to "get over it."
With Obama's duplicitous, self serving statement on Sunday about Gitmo, (If you have not yet, please read Greenwald's piece at Salon.) the hypocrisy on the Left must now be near a breaking point. Between now and the 20th they will ignore this latest body blow. Their egos and the media propaganda machine will not allow anything else. But eventually many will come to and realize the emperor may be naked, but he's been handed the keys to the kingdom, the army, and the airwaves.

Obama will continue the suspension of Habeous Corpus. (I doubt Olbermann is ready to admit his recent idiocy and foam at the camera again.) Obama is moving toward allowing "evidence" obtained under torture to be used.
This type of stance reversal is quickly becoming "Obama Classic". That is: any issue in which a principled stance demands to be taken eventually gets lathered over by a direct appeal from the "mystical Obama persona" - in hopes that his minions will ratchet up their willing suspension of disbelief another notch. So far it has worked. This is a product of having opposition to the prize. There is no more opposition. I suspect that Obama's dullard personality will wear thin soon. His charms are nominal unless he has a warm up band and 50,000 nitwits in attendance. The delusional left can't hold out forever. They'll try, but will be unable. I expect a wag the dog event within 6 months to keep the Obama party going.
The other "Obama Classic" technique is simpler: chuck people overboard. Even by recent Nixon-Bush standards the Obama body count is breathtaking and he's not in office yet. Wright, Rezko, Blag, Richardson, Dean, Palmer, Edwards, Jesse Jackson Jr., Gays, his grandmother, Jim Johnson, Pflegher, Ayres, his church, Muslim women...
Think whatever you like about Gitmo. My beef here is the hypocrisy on the Left. My belief remains that the "left" willing participated in its own destruction by refusing to question Obama in 2008. Here's my guess: 2 years of "reaching across the aisle" followed by big GOP gains in 2010.
Finally: Yes, Virginia, I do believe in conspiracies. Some at any rate. Every day in every way it appears more and more like the entire Obama phenomenon was planned, executed and forced upon us. From the media adoration, to the caucus packing, to the date setting for the nomination, to...well...add your own...but somehow no one knew a thing about the recession until Hillary was disposed of...then in October the economic Hades boiled over...draw your own conclusions.
Obama is an errand boy, sent by grocery clerks, to collect a bill. It is indeed change we can believe in if we choose to. We just have to ignore reality in the process.
It also confirms another suspicion I have: Obama knows this is a lethal topic and is attempting to shorten the news cycle on it. He knows he was treading on thin ice yesterday This is the kind of issue that goes to the core of his base's delusions. Obama must now backtrack on yesterday's backtrack and move on to another topic.
If Gitmo IS closed in short order I'll post a complimentary retraction of this post. Until then PEBO has earned our suspicion.

L.R. has it on good authority that a number of the most committed Obama activists are reporting near death experiences. The phenomenon, while not widespread, has occurred in Chicago, Berkeley, and around David Geffen's pool in Malibu. Remarkably, all report the same visions while technically - albeit momentarily - dead.
Unlike the usual tunnel ending with a white light, the activists all report entering a small room decorated with Che posters. Inside the room David Axelrod and William Ayres cackle deviously while mocking an angry looking man clinging to a gun and a bible. At some point all report Axelrod saying "Welcome, please partake of some kool-aid." After sipping, a hall with 5 doors appears. The "dead" Obots are then lead down the hall. "Now you must choose where you will spend eternity." Ayres interjects "Don't look at me you capitialist pig!"
Behind each door is a tiny windowless cell containing one person. All report the same five people.

Behind door number 2, is an even tinier cell with Chris Matthews. He is naked and rubbing his flabby thighs. He invites the Obot in saying "Touch them. They tingle. Feel the tingle. Please touch me, Obama supporter."
A still smaller cell is behind the third door. In it Rev. Phleger is mock crying and saying to the Obot "Oh you entitled whitey you must atone by listening to me preach forever. Forever! Wah Wah Wah."
Inside the minuscule cellbehind the fourth door Randi Rhodes is hunched over microphone booming "Come in, you fucking whore.You are a whore!!! Ha Ha!"
Finally in the smallest windowless cell of all: Joe Biden just being himself.
Once all rooms have been visited Axelrod says simply "Choose your eternal life." In all cases the Obots begin to cry and yell out "I am sorry. So sorry. I was blind but now I see", running back down the hall.
After coming to, the Obots all report being changed people. All make a commitment to living rationally, to questioning all politicians no matter how much they like them. All come to terms with reality, committing to live in it. All promise to never call a women a cunt again. And all become kool aid teetotalers.
