If being critical of Obama or calling him a liar (which is, ironically, true) means one must endure being attacked as a racist...So be it. I no longer care. The use of the word 'racist' has been so warped and abused since BHO came on the scene that soon it will be synonymous with being called:

Obama in "free fall" among white voters. The White House plans an aggressive outreach program to get these voters back. The three step program, scripted by White House aids, will unfold as follows:
- Louis Gates and Jeanane Garofalo will go door to door. Gates will ask people to step outside after which he will insult their mothers. Simultaneously, Garofalo will scream that they are "stupid racists" and periodically bite the voter's shins until they promise to support Obama again. If they refuse to profess unyielding love for Obama...
- a 3 story Keith Olbermann balloon (think Macy's parade) will inflate on their lawn and repeatedly intone:
"Little worthless working class cracker! Yes you! YOU Are the WORST person in the World! Love Obama unconditionally or I will....uh....do something really...really....mean...like not invite you on my show! You are a racist who can not think for yourself!!! Unlike me who lives on the Upper West Side , so I must be smart! I speak to black people every day! I understand the black experience because I used to report on sports! Black people play sports! Listen to me and kiss Obama's feet, little cracker people! Ah hahahahahaha. I have no issue with women! ah hahahahahaha!!!!
The Olbermann balloon is programed to continue talking for 3 days after which all the hot air is expelled through the "anus" and the balloon deflates rapidly - flying wildly though the sky and moaning "I'm relevant! I'm relevant!", "Mommy, Mommy! Please don't hate me!" and "Must blame Palin. Palin Bad!!"
- Should these tactics fail to return the white household to the Obama fold, Black Panthers with machine guns will be placed outside the house. They will harass and intimidate all who enter or leave. A cardboard cut out of Eric Holder will be placed nearby...looking away.

"Socialist!!!!" is on the verge of being over and missed used in 2009 as much as "racist!!!" was over and miss used in 2008. What's his name in the White House is many things but he's NOT a socialist. Socialists do not hire Goldman Sach's boys Larry Summers and Tim Geithner. Socialist do not give billions TO mega banks. They take is FROM mega banks. A socialist would never cut a deal with Big Pharma on drug prices...etc etc....

The Obama advocates declare that we have entered an entirely new political era. It is not only possible but also desirable, they say, for Democrats to win by turning away from those whom "progressive" pundits and bloggers disdain variously as "Nascar man," "uneducated," "low information" whites, "rubes, fools, and hate-mongers"who live in the nation's "shitholes."
Let me add as a Progressive: Obama's campaign is anti-liberal. It is racist in tone and deed. Should Obama succeed in forcing his will on the party there will be no reason for me and millions of others to remain Democrats.
My mantra remains: The fundamental force animating Obama's campaign is not Hope and Change. It is Resentment and Anger.

A few days ago I flushed the first comment from this blog ever. It was a insanely gross remark that went to race. A regular very anti-Obama commenter here alerted me to it. My co-blogger Lynne and I have had a few discussions about what is not acceptable. Death threats against anyone is a big no no. Racism and sexism are others. I admit much is gray area. But all in all we tend to like as open a forum as possible. It is also a learning curve. After 2 years of getting 20-50 hits a day we are now averaging 400-700 depending on how you read the site meter (Between new news and old news on the left hand side.Click it and you can see all sorts of interesting numbers. Most I don't understand.).
Someone called me a "racist" twice over 2 days. Should that be enough to drop kick him out? Not sure. But I did. The misue of the word has reached an epic scale mostly because Obamites are screaming it left and right. It has become a cue word, used as a "gotcha". Obamites are screaming it now to end conversations and then recline in the Smug Barca lounger and sip their mochas and nibble some sushi. The one element of Obama's life I find inspiring is how far he's come being a bi-racial man. The rest of his narrative is a pile of corrupt Chicago dung. His wife is stuck in a 1970 resentment groove and inspires nothing but contempt.
What the Obamaites are doing by screaming the word "racist!" at anyone who opens their mouth and says 2 words about race is rendering the word impotent. The ridiculous Obermann went ape shit because Ferarro said exactly what John Kerry said - but she was for Clinton so it must have been RACIST! The Huff Post is polluted with blanket indictments of white voters in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and elsewhere.
So why did I ban this guy? Because when he went back to calling me a racist again today and I realized he was merely using it in the "Obama Way": tag people with the great pop culture crime word of the last 20 years and then YOU WIN! Like with so many other things this campaign season I say:

That nonsense is not happening here. Race has been injected into this campaign far more by Obama than Clinton. He's used it like a Labrador retriever. Fetching it when he needed it, and throwing it far afield when he did not.
Besides, I am not a racist. I won't make the pathetic white boy list to prove it. I don't know what it is too walk a mile in a black man's shoes. Never will. I do know that I went to the matt in faculty meetings as a high school history teacher because black kids were being called "behavior problems" and white kids doing the same crap were not. Did not make a lot of friends there. And went to the matt again when they tried to ban certain hair styles in the school - all of which only the African American kids were sporting. (Since I did not know WTF I was talking about I actually did some due diligence on African womens' traditional hair styles back then. It is really interesting.) I also carry a lot of the same baggage many white men do in this society. When I got stern I often referred to the males as "boy" to the horror of one of the African American parents. At the time I did not know the history of using that word to degrade black adults. I was mortified and stopped. Learning curve in action.
I guess I did make the pathetic white boy list. Still, the point is we HAVE TO BE ABLE TO TALK ABOUT RACE. People of goodwill support Clinton and they should be allowed a part in the conversation. ( I am a bit short on the good will after what Obama and the media have done this year.) Calling us racist whenever we point up something about Obama's history (which encompasses affirmative action) is not helpful. Call me a racist. Just back it up. If you call me a pig sucking cur - fine - no need to back that up. Pig sucking cur does not carry 500 years of historical baggage. Plus it's a little funny, which always helps in my book. I knew based on the oozing smug "obamite" contempt of the comment I flushed that this man was merely throwing the word "racist" into the mix to gain some perceived "win." Plus, he called all Clinton voters dumb in that "oh the little people are so silly" way.I hate that shit. It is my blog and like I said - there is gray area. Buh Bye.
In fairness he was reacting to a comment I made that was close to the edge in the current atmosphere - no doubt. But it wasn't racist. Barry and Michelle have benefited from affirmative action. Get over it. Wild insults are in a great tradition of American politics. I have no problem with 90% of them. Read up on the Adams/Jefferson race of 1800 if you want some history. Part of the fun for me of having a blog is that I get to vent. Ditto for commenting on blogs. This is not a newspaper ( though pro Clinton blogs have done a fairer job than the MSM this year.).
I call Olbermann etc bigots because they are. I call Wright a racist because he is. There is no argument about this - but feel free to attempt one.
I have problems with Senator Obama. Rezko, Present votes, lack of experience, unwillingness to answer questions, Reverend Wright, equating his grandmother to Reverend Wright, Ayers, how he won his State Senate seat, his wife. His race is one of the few things I like about him.
But I have more issues with his supporters. If you go over to ObamaPost the commenters call anyone who doesn't support Senator Obama racists. It doesn't matter what you're argument is - you are a racist.
I don't like Obama's health care plan. You're a racist.
I have questions about how Obama bought his condo and his home. You're a racist.
I do not understand how he could sit in that pew for twenty years. You're a racist.
Run an ad featuring Reverend Wright. You're playing the race card.
Obama lost in Pennsylvania because all of Senator Clinton's voters are racist. (And stupid, drunk and gun toting as a bonus!) That's really going to get Clinton supporters to vote for Obama in the General if he wins the nomination.
It's an effective way to end the conversation. Not so fab at uniting which is what he claims to have the ability to do. Just because you shout louder doesn't make you right. A mob is still a mob. To tell your opposition that they're racist and that's the only reason they're not supporting your candidate is to alienate them forever. It's not going to pull them into the fold when you need them back.
What should have been a race showing how far we've come has pushed us WAY back.
Women and blacks are both considered minorities. Blacks because they are and women because of the way we've been treated. Both groups have had to fight to get where we are.
Senator Obama has benefited from the advances; Senator Clinton helped create the advances. I would love to know if he checked the box stating he was black on his application to college. Same with Michelle. Is that racist? No, it's not, thank you very much. But I would be curious if they benefited from their race to get accepted.
Young women don't remember a time when abortion wasn't legal. They don't know about coat hangers. Older women who went out and protested for the right to choose no longer have the need. Who's going to continue the battle? The right to control our bodies has been chipped away. Parental notification, having to have a sonogram, lack of clinics have eroded the options for women.
The Civil Rights Act passed. The Equal Rights Amendment didn't.
I do not believe that Obama supporters are all sexist. It's too bad they don't offer us the same courtesy.
Say anything bad about Senator Obama and you will be called a racist thus effectively ending any opportunity for an actual conversation.

I read an article and one of the comments called Senator Clinton a liar then went on to say how honest Senator Obama had been about the Wright Stuff. I suppose you hear what you want to hear. He said he had never heard any of the sermons in question then said he did. That's candor!
If you support Senator Clinton don't bother going on Kos or any other Obama blogs - you will be vilified and forced away. I hope we at Liberal Rapture will let everyone say their piece, question and still maintain civility. Ironic that Senator Obama represents a new way for politics, a civil way and his supporters think Randi Rhodes was not only right but should be sainted for "speaking the truth." Her freedom of speech is being infringed upon. She can say anything she likes while lambasting Geraldine Ferraro for saying what she believed. Agree with us or shut up. Keith Olbermann had a special comment for Ms. Ferraro, did he do the same with Ms. Rhodes? I don't know because I no longer watch.
When the Wright story came out Norah O'Donnell lamented, "How can we move on from this?" Anderson Cooper thought we should be talking about the issues instead of "politics as usual." (By the way, Mr. Cooper, Reverend Wright in in NO way politics as usual.) When the Bosnia story came out it got more attention than Natalie Holloway and the Duke La cross story combined. No need to talk about issues when you can magnify Senator Clinton's faults for hours and hours!
It's so Bushian. Until his poll numbers dove under 50% nothing he said or did mattered to his supporters because he was "strong." Hooker in the White House press corps there to lob soft ball questions - who cares? Obama lies about his parents? So what, he gives us hope. He's not just likable enough, he's lovable. His dealings with Rezko, what dealings with Rezko -Hillary lied about Bosnia.
Well at least she went. More than 300,000 people have been displaced in Kenya and are living in tents or with relatives. What has their favorite son done for them? Has he gone over to bring the parties together? No, that might involve actual work and what if he couldn't make a difference? How would it look?
Because it's all about perception. There's a scam email going around stating that Senator Obama has done more in his four years in the senate than Senator Clinton has done in eight. It's wrong but you'll see it quoted everywhere. Go to FactCheck.org and it's completely disproven but who wants to bother with facts?
