Riddle me this. What's the difference between Bush supporters and most Obama supporters today (at least the ones who comment on blogs)?

Me: I don't support going into Iraq
Neocon: You aren't patriotic

Me: I don't support Senator Obama
Obama Supporter (OS) You aren't a democrat

Me: I support Al Gore because he is smart, capable and experienced
Neo: I want to have a beer with George Bush

Me: I support Hillary Clinton because she is smart, capable and experienced
OS: Obama gives me hope!

Me: I want to know about Bush and his national guard service

Me: I want to know more about Obama's connections with Ayers, Rezko and Wright

We deserve to know what we are getting.

Barring a damning revelation it now seems BHO will become the nominee. So what to do? I have stated all over the place I won't vote for him. And I almost certainly won't. Comments in the last post indicated that many are feeling the same way. There are the few that scream "sour grapes" and tag this blog as being run by "closet Republicans". This is a hilarious and desperate assertion, based, like all things Obamite, in denial. Plenty of Democrats are unhappy with Obama for plenty of very good reasons. The Obama cult can't - or won't - conceive that a third to half of the core of the Democratic party isn't coming back to Obama, since they have elevated him to flawless messiah status. He can't be wrong, so we must be wrong.
Well - that is wrong.
I won't vote for Obama for many reasons from Ayres to Arrogance and back again. But the basic reason is this: I don't like him and I don't trust him with the job of President. The reasons I don't like him or trust him are simple: he has not earned any trust and he exhibits none of the qualities I look for in a leader. That's not hard to "conceive".

He is a wimp.

This seems so obvious that I don't even think I should have to re-state why this is true, but here goes: He avoids votes. He clung to his retrograde, racist preacher until Axlerod polled enough disgusted voters to convince Obama his self preservation was on the line. BHO did not deep six Wright because of any conviction. His relationship to William Ayres is alarming and tells us a great deal about his lack of judgment. His lies about Ayres are extraordinary. He speaks in vague generalities - just like W - a sure sign of a political animal with no true core. When the campaign really did get tough in the last 2 months he fumbled badly - insulting his grandmother, throwing the bird to Clinton, blaming his debate performance on ABC and generally flailing about like a punk.

He has no vision beyond "we should not bicker so much." The past is bad, mmmkay... This is the most pathetic aspect of Obama. It is the grand lie. Politics in a democracy are divisive. They should be. Real issues and real people are involved. The electorate and those who represent us should duke it out. Countries that don't go to the matt over tough issues are called dictatorships. In fact, we will continue to duke it out- even if Obama makes a thousand lovely speeches. Obama's call to a greater unity is AVOIDANCE not character. He doesn't want to address the difficult issues because he has no core convictions. It means work. Work that does not involve self promotion. Voting "present" on abortion bills in the state senate is emblematic. This is who he is. "Present".

The short hand for all this is: I don't like him.

I diverge from some of my fellow travellers here: I think he can win in November. I give him about a 30% chance. Axlerod is good at the game. McCain has settled on a being a "gentleman" and avoiding Obama's appalling associations. This is a disservice to the country and did not work for Hillary. She could have buried him in January with Ayres and Wright and she chose not to. I like Hillary - but I am mad as hell about how nice she has been to Obama. Democrats like me should not take solace in the idea that he "can't win". He can. It won't be easy. Clinton demurred. The RNC will not. I love the game of politics and I take it seriously as well.

It is going to be fun watching the Republicans unload on Obama. He deserves it. We deserve it. We deserve to know what we are getting.

The Company He Keeps.

I am loath to link to my hometown paper at this point - the LA times being, in essence, an embeded Chicago owned/Pro Obama paper - but they uncovered yet another apparent ethical lapse by Baby Jesus Obama. It seems Obama was working for a company named Killerspin (You really can't make this stuff up.) while a part time state senator in 2000. In fact, Killerspin provided Obama with 90% of his income the same year Killerspin was lucky enough to get a $50,000 grant from the state for a "table tennis event." The grant came at the prompting of Obama, who wrote a lovely letter on state senate stationary on Killerspin's behalf. There is nothing illegal about any of this. But, like the magic money from Rezko to expand his property, it begs all sorts of questions about who BHO really is. Mr. Barry has spent huge amounts of time and money promoting the idea that he is above all the nitty gritty of common politics. He is the Transformer. Or so he says. Yet, at every turn there is another pile of bones in another barely closed closet.

As for BHO running away from more debates - the reason is now clear. Obama not only lied about his relationship with William Ayres - he did it on a massive, almost Soviet, scale. From MyDD: Obama has been breathtakingly misleading about his relationship with William Ayers. In the past Obama described Ayers as an "acquaintance." This is bullshit. It turns out Obama worked for Ayres for 8 years. Not with. For. Any follow up on Ayres during a debate would surely corner Barry with the lies he's told about his relationship to the Weather Underground bomber.
Uppity, who writes regularly at No Quarter once commented on this blog that "time was Obama's enemy."
Indeed with every passing news cycle Obama is revealed as a man of bad judgement propelled by his talent as a speaker, a media hungry to attack a strong female candidate, and a large battalion of overgrown infants and neo-sexists at places like the Huffington Post and that blog the color of Cheetos. The GOP and Fox, after spending months kicking back enjoying the attacks on Clinton, have finally awakened to the inherent danger of allowing Obama to go unvetted. Afterall, one McCain health scare, and the devil you don't know can win.

And we've only just begun to hear about Nadhmi Auchi. Mr. Auchi wired $3.5 million to Tony Rezko about one month before Mrs. Rezko purchased land adjacent to the Obama home from the same seller. That land was later sold to Obama for a song. How do we know this? The Rezko trial. By the by: Nadhmi Auchi was charged along with Saddam Hussein for conspiring to assassinate Iraqi President Abdul-Karim Qasim in 1959.

Ouch.

Imagine what the GOP will do with that nugget in the fall? We are down to 2 degrees of separation between Barack Hussein Obama and Saddam Hussein. It may not be fair to make the leap. But they will. And contrary to the League of Infant Voter's whining (oops I mean the DailyKos's whining) - national elections are not the 3rd grade spelling bee. Fair matters less than perception.

We already know what they will do with Obama's 20 year relationship with Rev. Wright.

How is it that this man has accumulated so many connections to so many unpleasant types in such a short career?
Makes your head spin. Like a fast paced game of table tennis.

Shut Up!

I have problems with Senator Obama. Rezko, Present votes, lack of experience, unwillingness to answer questions, Reverend Wright, equating his grandmother to Reverend Wright, Ayers, how he won his State Senate seat, his wife. His race is one of the few things I like about him.

But I have more issues with his supporters. If you go over to ObamaPost the commenters call anyone who doesn't support Senator Obama racists. It doesn't matter what you're argument is - you are a racist.

I don't like Obama's health care plan. You're a racist.

I have questions about how Obama bought his condo and his home. You're a racist.

I do not understand how he could sit in that pew for twenty years. You're a racist.

Run an ad featuring Reverend Wright. You're playing the race card.

Obama lost in Pennsylvania because all of Senator Clinton's voters are racist. (And stupid, drunk and gun toting as a bonus!) That's really going to get Clinton supporters to vote for Obama in the General if he wins the nomination.

It's an effective way to end the conversation. Not so fab at uniting which is what he claims to have the ability to do. Just because you shout louder doesn't make you right. A mob is still a mob. To tell your opposition that they're racist and that's the only reason they're not supporting your candidate is to alienate them forever. It's not going to pull them into the fold when you need them back.

What should have been a race showing how far we've come has pushed us WAY back.

Women and blacks are both considered minorities. Blacks because they are and women because of the way we've been treated. Both groups have had to fight to get where we are.

Senator Obama has benefited from the advances; Senator Clinton helped create the advances. I would love to know if he checked the box stating he was black on his application to college. Same with Michelle. Is that racist? No, it's not, thank you very much. But I would be curious if they benefited from their race to get accepted.

Young women don't remember a time when abortion wasn't legal. They don't know about coat hangers. Older women who went out and protested for the right to choose no longer have the need. Who's going to continue the battle? The right to control our bodies has been chipped away. Parental notification, having to have a sonogram, lack of clinics have eroded the options for women.

The Civil Rights Act passed. The Equal Rights Amendment didn't.

I do not believe that Obama supporters are all sexist. It's too bad they don't offer us the same courtesy.

Hillary, drop the Ayres bomb.

Clinton needs to say directly to an audience and before cameras "I believe Senataor Obama should explain his relationship to William Ayres."

Obama must be forced to explain his connection to William Ayers

Obama must be forced by the lazy main stream media to explain his connection to William Ayers. The media is ignoring this story because it would be a body blow the BHO campaign if it became widely known. Ayers and his wife introduced Obama to Chicago politics in 1995. BHO served with Ayers on the board of the Wood Foundation - which voted to give money to BHO's black separatist church.
Ayers is an unrepentant domestic terrorist. He bombed the State Department and the Pentagon. He was on the run from the law for a decade.
Knowing all this Obama chose to associate with Ayres on numerous occasions and accepted campaign money from him.

The silence on the connections between Obama and Ayres in the media is dereliction of duty at its worst. Much worse than ignoring the Wright story for months.

And why is Obama's church suddenly cleaning up its website?

Twenty years ago, while consulting her well read copy of Nostradumbass, Hillary Clinton realized that in 2008 she was going to be locked in a bitter campaign for President against a young man from Chicago.

She cleverly disguised herself as a typical white woman and flew to Chicago and managed to run into the young man at an Au Bon Pain (the Starbucks of the day.) She recommended a wonderful church and told him that no matter what the Reverend said he should stick with it. She threw a party and introduced him to all sorts of interesting people, Rezko, Ayers.

Later, disguised as a concerned citizen of his district she volunteered for his campaign for State Senate and advised him how to legally get everyone else off the ballot to ensure a win. She told him to vote present as often as possible to show that he was centrist and could bring people together.

Our woman of many faces came into Senator Obama's life when he was looking for a house, this time as a real estate agent. She brokered the deal, after many meetings with Rezko, to allow Senator Obama to buy a lovely home.

Now it won't come as a surprise to learn that she helped David Axelrod write Senator Obama's rehashed speeches and she's the one who decided that no one would recognize any of Duval Patrick's words as they were "just words." She also was the one who put the reference to his grandmother in his wonderful speech on race. Obama didn't want to do it but in her disguise of a Democratic Karl Rove, she convinced him it would be great.

In her role as a campaign advisor for Obama she set up hordes of young women to faint at his concerts. She told him that this would give him an aura of excitement. She told him to focus on the red states that Democrats will never win in the general to show that he could bridge the gap between red and blue and make America purple.

Senator Obama wanted to be specific on issues. She said, NO! Talk only about change and vague generalities. She also befriended Michelle Obama and I think you know where the quote about being proud of America for the first time came from. Who do you think convinced MSNBC that going all the way for Obama would draw the right kind of viewers?

Oh, poor Senator Obama. Set up by the evil Hillary Clinton.

We can and should blame the media as the truth about Obama becomes known.

Why has no one in the press asked Obama about his William Ayers connection? It is possible that there is very little to the connection. But shouldn't we know? What is the press thinking? How have they ignored this story as Obama has made his run? Is it that they INTEND to make McCain President?
William Ayers is an unrepentant serial bomber who was on the lamb for a decade. Obama has accepted a small contribution from Ayers and has chosen to appear with both he and his wife, Bernadine Dohrn, at numerous public and private events. Dohrn said this after the Sharon Tate murders: "Dig it! First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them. They even shoved a fork into the victim's stomach! Wild!"

My God.

Is this not worth a mention on MSNBC? Imagine if the wife of a Clinton contributer had said such a thing?
Obama sat on the board of the Wood Foundation with Ayers - since the turn of the century. They have collaborated. Ayers said this after 9/11: "I don't regret setting bombs. I feel we didn't do enough"

Why is Obama even choosing to be in the same room as this man? Again, like staying in that church for 20 years Obama's bad judgement is scary.

Obama has chosen to associate himself with this couple on numerous occasions. Where is the media? Another chose Ayers quote: "Kill all the rich people. ... Bring the revolution home. Kill your parents." I don't care when Ayers said this - Obama sat on a board of directors with him.
When will someone confront Obama about this?
