    The C-Span promises

Obama's C-Span promises keep giving. On the Daily Show last night, Jon Stewart and Samantha Bee flattened the president.

The clip of Obama repeatedly promising to broadcast the health care negotiations on C-Span could easily take on the same life as Nixon's "I'm not a crook": A constant reminder of what many suspected - the president is a liar. The difference is Nixon was on his way out. In less than nine month's he was gone. Obamacare will haunt Obama for the next three years. Anyone attacking his broken promises on health care now has a concise, visual, and damning launching pad.

The politics of this are hellish for the White House. This story fits all the criteria of "game changer".

-Easy to understand promise: Obama made explicit, direct promises about C-Span and health care.

-Flip flop on promise: The current flip flop is easy for anyone to see- even those who don't pay attention to politics. (Think: "read my lips..")

-An issue the public is engaged on: The bill is unpopular and health care, like taxes, affects everyone.

-The narrative is already in place: The health care news has been dominated by the "cornhusker kickback" for the past 2 weeks seeding the perception of corruption before the C-Span story unfolded. The C-Span promise clips prove and expand this perception.

    - Credibility is already being openly questioned on another major issue: This story erupted on the heals of the Christmas day bombing attempt and the ensuing perception that Obama's team - and Obama himself - were asleep at the switch. Napolatano's "The system worked" moment was only a few weeks ago.

In a compact series of news cycles Obama's credibility and competence has been assaulted on the two fronts: National security and health care.

For those of us who watch politics closely it might be easy to miss the damage "C-Span-gate" is causing. There he goes again was my initial reaction. In fact, with Obama's attempt to right the ship in the days after Napolatano's inane remarks I thought he'd recover a bit. This debacle has nullified any potential recovery.

The story hammers one of Obama's weakest areas -the perception that he is all hat and no cowboy. That he's "just words". He doesn't mean what he says or say what he means . This complaint has been hovering around the edges for months now. It's now taken center stage. It has legs.

If the health care bill was popular this story would be D.O.A. Because a belligerent Democratic leadership is about to pass it into law despite the popular blow back, (or to spite it) the clips of Obama promising an open process will live on for months and probably years. Obama's radio address today tauting the immediate changes in the bill - some of which are popular - is an attempt to blunt the C-Span disaster. But it begs one easy question: If the bill is so beneficial why can't the negotiations be public?

The complaint that Obama is a socialist out to wreck the country only resonates with those already predisposed to distrust him. The C-span moment is of a different political magnitude. It goes to credibility. No president can survive without credibility. Obama's has taken a severe hit.

    The condescension tribe

Stupid, in various forms, is the word of the week. The President glibly remarked that the Cambridge, Mass. cop who arrested Professor Gates "behaved stupidly. " On Monday Bill Maher said America is a stupid country. This bears some examination. Maher does not. He is not worth any thought - either deep or cursory. Maher is a tool. A fatuous cog in the distraction machine. We can also leave aside the examples Maher gives. Insulting Sarah Palin is currently compulsory among the elite brats of our public "discourse". Like eating and elimination - if they don't do it they die. His tepid claim that Obama is smart - is worth a moment - but only because it increasingly appears false.

There are a lot of people. 6 billion - give or take. Most people - at one point or another - are stupid. Some people are stupid all the time. It stands to reason that many Americans are stupid. Actually, it's an observable phenomenon pretty much every day. Without going on a patriotic bender I will also say it is self evident that the U.S. is a "smart" country. Make your own list. We've done pretty well.

What troubles people like Maher is - they won. They got what they wanted in Obama's election and now have much less to gripe about. One of their tribe is now President. Not the "Democratic" or "progressive" tribe. Obama really isn't either. Maher hails from the elite chattering class who contribute nothing of value tribe. He's a member of the hilariously misnamed "intelligentsia". Most of whom are not particularly intelligent at all in any actionable way . The coin of the realm with this tribe is condescension. The most important component of this condescension is hubris. Maher was apparently a quart low on arrogance so he called the entire country stupid. Why leave anyone out?

Letting us know that they know better than the rest of us is the blood this tribe of vampires feeds on. They must have it.

Obama springs from this tribe. It began in the dark recesses of his unknown past. Chicago's rich liberals? The William Ayers cabal? The Geffen/ Huffington wing of the Democratic Party? Take your pick. They all assume they know better. It is their animating principle.

The most dangerous element to the condescension tribe - the one that must always be kept in check and under control - are the people who actually do things of value -people who live lives that for most of human history were called normal and productive. The flyover people as those in NY and LA often call them. So when Obama is confronted by a question about one of these people who actually do a job, his knee jerk reaction is to call that person stupid. It is part of his DNA. Bitter. Stupid. Clinging to guns and religion.

Maher ups the ante. His world view is in jeopardy -so everyone must be stupid. We live in a stupid country.

Maher is just this side of worthless. He's not even funny which ought to be his saving grace. Even a stupid person can see that when he calls the country stupid he is talking about himself. But let's leave that revelation to his analyst or 12 step sponsor or life coach.

The advent of the Obama era is exposing all of us - but mostly it is exposing those who insisted that he was the saviour. The Obots not only ignored Obama's emptiness - they deified it.

    Oops.

Expect the condescension class to use "stupid" with regularity in 2009 and 2010. "Racist" is so 2008.

    Santelli

A reader sent me a wonderful exchange between a pro-Obama "intellectual" and a citizen who questioned him all along - which I am formatting - to make it anonymous - for Saturday.
As a placeholder I post the "rant heard round the world":

Though now seen by everyone - I have a few notes:
    1. It is delightful and somewhat inspiring to see a professional lambaste El Presidente with such passion. This type of rant makes me happy to be American. And no, I don't agree with all of it. But after the uniform Obama Adoration Complex Media Assault we endured for all of 2008 I love seeing this guy pop off.
    2. Santelli's statement that the bit of Exchange floor he's standing in is a "cross section of America" is absurd. I did not see one non white face on the clip - or a woman, or a laborer, or...or..or...

It seems Obama is making things worse - but lets be honest - Wall Street is awash with culpability here. I am not a socialist, or a libertarian or an unreconstructed capitalist. (Greed is not good.) I am an FDR liberal. The government must take action. Sadly, the action Obama's Democrats are taking is about paying off constituencies, rewarding criminal enterprises like Freddie and Fannie, and punishing good behavior.

Regardless, whoever loudly points out that the Emperor is naked right now is fine by me.

Finally, a pointed little paragraph from from Fred Barnes:
Obama, the market killer. The Dow fell 332.13 points on inauguration day, 381.99 points on the day Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner announced step two in the bank bailout, and 297.91 points when the president signed the stimulus bill three days ago. Financial markets are a bet on the future. The market's view is that an Obamanomics-driven economy looks grim.

I wish thoughtful liberals were circling the wagons now. But I'll take what I can get.

    Strap yourselves in.

Californians vote to give chickens more elbow room, make gays second class citizens

Full disclosure: I voted for the chickens to have more elbow room. Now it is a leap to say that we here in California value chickens more than gays - but it is an interesting juxtaposition and I don't doubt that many Yes on 8 voters do value chickens more than gays.
Also - most gay Californian did vote for Obama despite his tepid support of gay rights and occasional outright homophobia. There is no inherent contradiction in this, especially given the choices.
What Obama COULD do now is speak out forcefully against Prop 8. The "He had to do that to get elected." ethically empty horseshit that Pods repeated like ventriloquist dummies during the campaign is now no longer operable. Obama has promoted himself as an agent of change, opening a new era in American life. He could stake a claim to greatness even before he takes office by condemning the yes on 8 vote as a retrograde move that harms millions of citizens. He was against prop 8 during the campaign. All he has to do now is reiterate his opposition, in front of a microphone.

I would like to see the gay men and women who were cheer leading for Obama all year demand that Obama speak out against the implementation of Prop 8.

He won't. Why? He's a coward. The FISA flip flop is indicative of what liberals can expect and should have expected all along from President Obama. Weasels like Huffington and Andrew Sullivan made excuses when Obama did a 180 on FISA. Values and ethical standards be damned. The Whole Foods Left ditched their moral compass to get on the bandwagon.

Obama says he wants one America, an America of inclusion. If he means it he'll speak out against prop 8 now.

    I wish

I wish I did not feel so sure that I knew how this election story ends. I wish my track record at predicting sucked. (Including my prediction that Clinton would win - she did. I did miss that she would not be allowed to run in the general by forces behind the scenes.) I wish it was not so obvious that Obama was being installed -not elected. The second installation of a U.S. President is now underway. I wish it was more evident who was behind Obama. I wish the media had done its job this year. The fact that it did not is more indication that very powerful people are behind Obama - and not the usual "liberal media" suspects. Obama is owned, he is not an owner.

I wish I was not a Zionist at heart. (Though, I am not a Jew I seem to have an embedded Pro-Israel chip.) Israel is in for some rough sledding.

I wish I could trust Obama's stances on anything. Though, I do not fear socialism in and of itself. I do fear the strident "fascist socialism" we see in Chavez, Alinsky and Ayers.

I wish Odinga, Rezko, Ayres, and Wright where not essential parts of Obama's largely unreported narrative.

I wish Obama would release his medical records, real birth certificate, and records from his time at Columbia before Tuesday. Why won't he? And why won't the media investigate?

I wish he had never mentioned his desire for "civilian military force".

I wish I felt better about the potential President Obama. I wish I felt that Obama was ushering in a new era in American politics and life - as so many apparently do. Sadly, I am stranded by the facts. I see no reason to trust this man. He is a power mad liar. This is hardly in question anymore. I pray I am wrong about what is happening. On all counts.

The lies of Obama are extraordinary - even by our recent, low standards. A democracy cannot withstand a lengthy season of lies.

Finally, a hope: I hope Obama is "just another politician". I hope - with everything I have - that Obama has used his life for this election - and that as President he will dispose of his past - throw it all under the bus - and govern from us - and not AT US. I hope we are indeed on the precipice of a new, open era.

But I sense that this moment, the Obama moment, is an extension of the Bush years, not a refutation of it. The thread is control.

The behavior of the media and Mr. Obama's campaign all year does have an explanation that fits: Obama is owned.

    Barney gets too frank

Barney Frank (who will never attain the coveted honor of being Liberal Rapture's "Gay of the Day". ) came right out and said it: Frank suggested to a local newspaper that Democrats should slash the defense budget by up to 25 percent and eventually may have to raise taxes on the rich.

It so odd being an anti-Obama liberal blogger. I don't have a huge problem with the rich paying more taxes. Cutting military spending at another point in our history would not bother me much either. What does bother me is the double timing being done by the Obama Democrats and the media. Imagine if Hillary Clinton had said she intended to cut the defense by 25% - Wolf Bliter would crack in half on the air. Then 100 little Blitzers would scamper about the cheap CNN set asking leading questions about America's vulnerability.

But Barney Frank, Obama Pod extraordinaire, will no doubt be ignored.

Personal interjection: I can't stop watching True Blood. And I know it is awful. If it was a sin to be hooked on really bad television I'd go to confession. I already know of at least one drinking game in which viewers chug every time a character says something stupid. I presume whoever plays is hammered after 20 minutes. When the Aryan blondie vampire king of the bayou asked to spend some time with the lead Suki this line was "acted" by her brooding vampire lover: Eric is sheriff of area 5. It is a position of great power among our kind."

    Cringe.

And yet - I can't stop watching. In fact, I hate that I have to wait a week between episodes.

    House rules

Interesting little tid bit over at the HillaryClinotonforum - Is Frank Marshall Davis Obama's real father? I love this theory for "House" reasons. On Fox's medical drama House - House's team is presented a patient and evolving symptoms and then must find an illness that fits. It's a crime drama grafted onto a medical template with the disease acting as the criminal. Marshall as BHO's biological father is a great fit for all symptoms of the "birth certificate disease".

    Symptoms:

*Obama has yet to release an actual birth certificate. This is very odd. The campaign and its concubines at Kos threw up an abstract and called it proof. It never was.
*Even with a case pending in PA. Obama will not produce a real birth certificate. This should be a simple task. It would end the speculation, end the case and make a fool of the man who brought it. Why won't he? A real birth certificate may either not list a father or list Marshall. Either way, BHO's narrative - starting with "Dreams of My Father" - is blown apart.
*Marshall, who was already a father and married may not have wanted a bastard. Obama senior wanted to stay in the U.S. so he marries Ann Dunham and "fathers" Obama junior. He disappears very quickly, though - heading to school on the east coast. Marshall, on the other hand, becomes Obama's Jr's "mentor" as a young man - after he returns to Hawaii - with the full support of his maternal grandparents.
*Obama's has more in common with Marshall in style and substance than he does with Obama senior - a reckless drunk.
*Finally - like it or not - it is a "happy" ending in my mind. He WAS born in the U.S. He is the child of an American, not an immigrant with no connection to the Black American experience. In fact, he springs FROM a civil rights leader. I, and many others, have had the "something isn't right about this guy" feeling for a long time. This theory fills in much of the gap for me.
The "otherness" so many of us feel about Obama is both explained and in large part obliterated. And if THIS is the big lie I feel much better about Obama. "Everybody lies." is Dr. House's assumption on the show. True enough. Family lies that a person moves heaven and earth (including writing federal law and bestsellers) to conceal are more forgivable to me.
In my mind, it also justifies so much of the Obama mania - unconscious as it is - father loss, and all that goes with it is, is one of the most consistent "Western" archetypes. See Hamlet and or The Lion King for proof. People lock into archetypes as they are played out - whether they know it or not.
Unless Obama agrees to a DNA test we may never know. Pic in order: Obama, Jr., Obama Sr., Frank Marshall Davis.

    What is Biden talking about?

What the hell is Joe Biden talking about?

"Mark my words," the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. "It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama..."

From Cannonfire: I don't think I've ever heard such a bizarre prediction from a Vice Presidential candidate. This statement does not strike me as blue-sky conjecture. Something is up. Something specific. Something that will harm or destroy the popularity of a new Obama presidency.

How does this statement not argue for John McCain being elected? If the "world" is going to throw something at us - why not have the guy who has already been tested in office?

A side note: Palin said to a CNN interviewer that "If I had said that you would have clobbered me."

The CNN reporter said "You're right."

Wow an honest reporter at CNN. He said, in essence, "Yes, we are biased" - and then he smiled and moved on.

Finally - why the HELLL is a major candidate suspending his campaign two weeks out to go to Hawaii to see his Grandmother? He's not. Granny is a front. Something is up with the lawsuit in Hawaii regarding his birth records.

Powell endorsed Obama because he's black.

I was going to skip writing about the major Obama absurdity of the day but No Quarter dove in and lord knows, I don't want to be left out of the fun entirely. Besides, I am hoping a Pod wanders by (like a bacteria pool in the Ganges)to call me unstable and/or racist.

Let's get to the point. Colin Powell endorsed Obama because he's black. You know it. I know it. Everyone on earth knows it. Like Oprah, who ditched her audience to skip over Clinton for Obama, Powell let race trump judgement.

So on to why Powell is now closer to Ted Baxter than George Washington. His judgement is suspect - to put it mildly. No Quarter rips his "endorsement" to shreds here. I have nothing to add. Except to say that the similarities between Powell's water carrying for Cheney and his Obama blow job today are obvious and mildly interesting. But it boils down to race. End of story.

Powell is responsible for the most ridiculous speech ever given at the U.N. No small feat considering Hugo Chavez's idiocies and Khrushchev's shoe slamming antics. He damned himself once and for all and forever the day he agreed to sign off on the murder of thousands of Iraqis. See THIS blogger is actually consistent on basic values. Those who knew Powell was either lying or a fool at the U.N. all those years ago have now decided he is a man of grand and perfect judgement. Daily Kos and little miss Huffington have no scruples. If it works for DEAR LEADER then it is a -okay. Markos, the mad Greek lady, Avarosis and the rest HAVE NO MORAL CENTER. Obama makes people lose their rationality. If I was a doctor I would call it a disorder. Since I'm not, but I do tivo every episode of HOUSE, I will go ahead and call it A DISORDER. There are very few other rational explanations, other than mass hypnosis.

No one - now that no one includes Colin Powell - can MAKE THE CASE for Obama based on experience or accomplishment. Obama wins the pathetic general's endorsement on "style" and a series assumptions conjured out of thin air and MSNBC propaganda. Oh - and the pesky race thing - that no one opposed to Obama is allowed to talk about.

Screw it. I just did. Powell endorsed Obama because Obama is...uh...say it with me, all together now: BLACK.

    More on Obama's birth

I swear I did not see this post before I wrote last night...it was linked today through Cannonfire.

The Republican chickens are going to be coming home to roost in a big way in the next four years. If the Democrats have the House and the Senate and the Presidency, they'll be cleaning up the mess and getting the blame. People, too many of them anyway, pin the fault on the visible target. Based on his record, there is no reason to think Obama is a millennial statesman capable of leading us away from the mountain range of shit. He may turn out to be, but he hasn't been so far. If he doesn't succeed, the Republicans will gain power in 2012 for another eternity.

and The October Surprise. Get through the introduction. It is about the Obama birth issue case. I swear I do not know what to think about this - I do know the Obama Campaign lies quite often (see the changing Ayres story) Why can't he produce some simple documents? The refusal to release his Columbia records is also odd. What do you think?

Is it time to kill your television?

What is so depressing today - other than the Dodgers lost both games back east - is that it appears to me that the idea that we have a vibrant and open election process is dead.

The concept that we choose our leaders is history. We have now seen this media/power elite game in 3 consecutive elections - they choose - we are told. The way Obama is handled by the press and the way W was in 2000 are strikingly similar. Except the media is much more overt in its adoration of Obama. Because they can be...
The same process unfolded before the Iraq invasion. We are being coached and cajoled and massaged into an Obama presidency.
    Why?
    and
Is it time to kill your television?

Oh my, BHO is a socialist after all??!!!

Well - what the hell - we've never elected a Socialist before. Wow - if this one pans it is a fine choice for an October surprise. Seems BHO spent more than his fair share of time IN THE 90'S - at Chicago New Party meetings -(thems the socialists). Candidates must be approved via a NP political committee. Once approved, candidates must sign a contract with the NP. The contract mandates that they must have a visible and active relationship with the NP. Read the rest here and here.

It just gets better and better with the Chicago joker.

Full disclosure: When I was a freshmen in college a subscribed to the Commie Party rag for 4 weeks. (Workers Weekly or something). I read all four and found them utterly ridiculous. I returned to my unclear collegiate liberalism... where I remained until an embarrassingly late date.

Then again - I am not running for President - so who gives a sh*t what I read in college...

    unrepentant

William Ayres is a repellent man. He always has been and he is now. Because the McCain campaign is now attacking Obama's connection to Ayres the nation is finally hearing about it.
Ayres has been in Obama's career every step of the way. He launched it. He plucked him out of obscurity to lead a massive foundation. Doing Ayres bidding , this foundation doled out money to Ayres' projects. Obama then used his "experience" as the head of the Annenberg foundation to become a state senator.
This is now - or will shortly - be known by the population. What will also become known is that Ayres's activities caused the death and maiming of innocents. Why does this matter?

Ayres is unrepentant. Ayres believes what he did in bombing the Capitol and the Pentagon was just and right. In fact, he believes he did not do enough bombing, maiming, and killing. He is not a "changed" man. He is the terrorist he was in the 60's. Obama chose to associate and work with a terrorist.

Ayres chose Obama. But let's never forget: Obama CHOSE Ayres as well. He's worked for Ayres, spoke with Ayres on panels, socialized with Ayres - knowing all along that this man killed. Ayres was only a free man for the last 20 years - after spending the 70's on the lam - because of a technicality.

Obama's connection to Ayres, like Rezko and Wright, goes to Obama's character. Obama chose Ayres. Obama chose Rezko. Obama chose Wright. Who is this man Obama who cavorts with slumlords, and works with killers, and worships with hatemongers?

If we get nothing else out of the next few weeks - we should demand that Obama finally ANSWER for these associations.

The media has done an appalling and unpatriotic job of vetting these associations. The media must be held to account by anyone who loves this country.

Fannie and Freddie: Who is at fault?

Before the clip at the bottom I have a few thoughts. If you are not in the mood to read - Please skip the thoughts and view the clip.

    A. Pelosi is a disaster as Speaker of the House. I would say she is the Worst Speaker Ever - but I don't know the history of the House well enough.

    Suffice it to say:Pelosi sucks.

Remarkably she used her time on the floor BEFORE the vote to hammer at and blame the entire financial mess on Bush and the GOP. I don't care about the content of what she said in this case. I heard it and did not disagree entirely. That's not the point. To throw this verbal bomb BEFORE the vote was:

    1. Proof she's a moron.
    2. An attempt to make sure the bill failed.
    3. Both

Any GOPs that may have been on the fence voted No after her eruption. So much for a new era in politics.

    B. The clip below exemplifies my disgust and sadness about the Democrats. From what I can tell so far most of the blame for the Freddie/Fannie debacle belongs to the Dems. They are the "something for nothing" Party now (with the perfect nominee to carry this banner forward.)

    C. Since many of the DEMs defending Fannie/Freddie corruption in the clip are Black I expect to called a racist. Whatever. blah blah blah. The word has been rendered meaningless by the Obama campaign. These Reps are idiots. Idiots come in all colors.

    D. I resent 700 billion (or whatever it is now) of tax payer money being spent to salvage the damage idiots on all levels did to the system. Saving this monster from eating its own is not worth our money or effort. Let the chips fall. We need to start living within in our means.

I guess you could say that today I am glad Pelosi is so bad at her job.

    Damning clip. Please watch.

    The lynching of Sarah Palin

The Obama Left's and the media's lynching of Sarah Palin is obscene. That is pretty much all I really want to say here. But I'll keep going. I am not referring to arguments about policy - that is always fair, and it would be nice to hear Obama yappers stick to policy arguments. Their candidate either says nothing of note or flip flops so this is admittedly difficult for them.

A series of out right lies have been spread about Palin by Obama Pods. These lies have been repeated in the MSM so widely that they now pass as fact.

Palin did not cut funding for special needs education in Alaska by 62 percent. She did't cut it at all. In fact, she tripled per-pupil funding over just three years.

She did not demand that books be banned from the Wasilla library. Some of the books on a widely circulated list were not even in print at the time. The librarian has said Palin asked a "What if?" question, but the librarian continued in her job through most of Palin's first term.

She was never a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, a group that wants Alaskans to vote on whether they wish to secede from the United States. She's been registered as a Republican since May 1982.

Palin never endorsed or supported Pat Buchanan for president. She once wore a Buchanan button as a "courtesy" when he visited Wasilla, but shortly afterward she was appointed to co-chair of the campaign of Steve Forbes in the state.

Palin has not pushed for teaching creationism in Alaska's schools. She has said that students should be allowed to "debate both sides" of the evolution question, but she also said creationism "doesn't have to be part of the curriculum."

Palin never required victims to pay for their own rape kits.

Palin has also been attacked by the Obama Left in the same way they attacked Clinton in the spring. This bullshit has also been widely reported on by the MSM - having the effect of giving propaganda the weight of fact.

Her pregnant 17 year old daughter was vivisected by the Obama Left.

Andrew Sullivan called for a paternity test on her youngest son.

Hypocritical statements about her presumed inability to work and maintain a family came from LIBERALS. Or rather alleged liberals.

In one month her entire life has been dug up, examined, and trashed. Yet, almost anything that questions Obama's narrative is off limits. Even connecting Obama to Fannie Mae's former President is called "racist".

Echoing Randie Rhodes last Spring (who called Clinton a "fucking whore") Sandra Bernhart gleefully called for the gang rape of Palin.

If the MSM had ripped into Biden's numorous idiocies and corrupt familial and credit card company ties I might call this a case of ugly politics as usual.

If the MSM had ever questioned Obama the way Gibson did Palin, I might call this part of the game that must be played.

If the MSM had forcefully reported on the failings of Trinity or Biden's Catholic church I might call this nasty, but fair.

None of this has occurred. The Obama Left and the media have set out to destroy Palin.

    This is a lynching.

    Jugular

I admit to not understanding a word of the McCain ad below. However - it goes to my theory that McCain has to knee cap Obama and do it now if he expects to win. I said a few posts ago that Atwater and Rove destroyed Dukakis and Kerry in August of 88 and 04 - and that McCain had wounded Obama but he was still very much in the race. My theory was off in one particular. The Dem convention had already happened when Willie Horton and Swiftboats appeared. This year the DNC held the convention late. McCain has a week before the first debate to throw Obama off badly- which is to say: To get the truth out about Obama to the American people. With a series of ads he appears to be going after it. Call it "negative" if you like. But the equation leaves little room for McCain. Obama has the media on his team. Therefore, the playing field is not even. In addition to the media being a wing of the Obama campaign, BHO has an army of bloggers who gleefully do his "negative" campaigning for him. The media in turn picks up on whatever bile they spew. Compare the media's 10 month silence on Edward's affair (which would have helped Clinton) to their vicious attack on Palin's daughter - a story they sat on for about 43 seconds.

Cannonfire - yet again - has a great post here on just how dangerous and delusional Obama Pods are. McCain must not underestimate this Obama created mob.

Whatever Chavez is saying is sounds awful. And the bleeping of foul language ads to the overall air that the man is a lunatic. McCain is running the ad in Florida. If anyone can give a synopsis of the point of this ad I would appreciate it. Like it or not - all Hillary had to do was run a similar ad in January (in tone, at least) replacing Chavez with Wright - and she would now be the nominee with a 12 point lead.

Guest Post - Tit for Tat - by BJinChicago

    Tit for Tat -

    By BJinChicago:

Senator John McCain graciously sent Barack Obama a letter congratulating him on his nomination and its historic significance. His message includes this revealing line: "How perfect that your nomination would come on this historic day." Yes, of course, it was perfect, if you believe the convention serendipitously included the anniversary date of DR King's iconic American Dream speech.

It's more likely, it's too perfect and that McCain, the seasoned politician who survived the Bush campaigns, sees it for what it is: the "perfect" piece of an orchestrated, ethically corrupt, marketing campaign. The fact that the convention dates included the anniversary of DR King's speech only gives further credence to the idea that the DNC picked its candidate early on and that much of what transpired during the primary and the convention was a sham.

Mourn the end of Roosevelt's Democratic Party. Its lamp was extinguished from within by once-trusted keepers of the flame, who plotted its demise. FDR's Party, the party of the people, is gone; it was the victim of a Chicago hit carried out brazenly on cable news for the entire nation to view. The neo-Dem mob used the lethal weapons of misogyny, ageism, race-baiting, and classism for the slaughter. The evil cabal of suspects include Dean, Brazile, Axelrod, Pelosi, and every other elitist party official who thumbed his/her nose at the people's vote. There are forces within this country that want to dilute or even dissipate our collective power, and unfortunately they stretch within the neo-Democratic Party.

The sadness that many of us have experienced this election is about much more than Hillary Clinton; it is about country, principles and beliefs. It is about the role of our leaders and their responsibility to citizens in a democracy. It is about the sanctity of our vote in a democratic society. Eighteen million Americans have been cheated of their presidential candidate's vision, knowledge and experience, and neo-Dem Party elitists have allowed their personal thirst for power to take precedence over the needs of the people they were elected to serve.

The neo-Dems have played Chicago-style politics, and therefore, we must react in kind. It must be this for that, tit for tat, or we will never reestablish our power as voters within that party. They must be reminded that actions have consequences.

Any child, who has ever gone toe to toe with a bully in a playground and won, understands the undeniable truth about the way Chicago politics is played. We have been civil. We have called, emailed, and written letters. We have politely protested. Civility has not worked. We must fight, or we are vanquished. They must feel our pain, or we have relinquished our place in the sun.

Obama hopes that the likable Biden will win him working class voters who he offended early on with his elitist San Francisco comments. It must not happen; the disenfranchisement must be remembered. I know I will remember in November.

Like the neo-Con Republicans, the neo-Dems cannot be trusted. We must elect a President who will ensure the checks and balances of power that are founders valued. A Democratic Congress with a Republican President will keep them all on their toes, because with that vote we will have nullified the elitists of both parties. We've done enough of the heavy lifting; let us put our national elected leaders on notice in a very public way.

I will remember, but who else will remember in November that it is time to take our country back? I will vote McCain, because there is no other viable option for our country. With McCain as POTUS and a Democratic Congress, the two branches can spend the next two years repeatedly checking each other if they cannot work together for the good of the country.

As a result of losing what was to be a "sure thing" this year, the neo-Dems will be cast off (especially, Brazile, Dean, Axelrod, Pelosi, and their sycophants). Thus, the Clintons should be able to seize the leadership during the next Congressional election and reestablish FDR party principles with Hillary running in 2012.

Personally, I will have no problem voting for Senator John McCain; because I believe him to be an honorable man, and I yearn to respect my President again. McCain knows the pangs of war; he will be a good commander in chief. Kerry wanted McCain for his Vice-President in 2004, but McCain refused. Despite neo-Dem comments to the contrary, if Johnny Mac was good enough to lead then; he is good enough now. In addition, McCain's choice of Sarah Palin as VP will make a Republican win in November even sweeter revenge, since it will be a one-two punch and force some reflective "we should have/could have" moments on Democrats.

For me, Senator John McCain has proven that he is the best candidate by his VP choice, because actions do speak louder than words. As others have pointed out, he put his dream of the presidency on the line, and he put his faith in a woman. The actions of the neo-Dems, on the other hand, prove that they are not progressive when it comes to women, since we have witnessed a huge disconnect between what they do and what they say.

For the sake of our country, for its children, and its children's children, remind the neo-Dems that the people's democratic vote must be respected. Many have fought to safeguard these voting rights for us. As I write there are soldiers in Iraq defending the right of that country's people to live in a democratic society, it is indefensible that a national political party has used fascist tactics to deny fellow citizens these rights in our own land, and it is disgraceful that party leaders who have acted as watch guards of democracy elsewhere ignored what happened here. Yet, the Democratic Party has done just that in joining with Obama’s ethically corrupt campaign to guarantee him victory.

I will remember in November, but will I be the only one? Will American voters, especially Clinton Democrats and Independents, remember? Or will some of us stay home or vote Obama out of some misplaced loyalty to the past?

Any Chicagoan knows the adage "you gotta do what you gotta do." In that mind frame, McCain’s mother gave sage advice for this election to those who are on the fence: "Hold your nose, and vote McCain."

Actions speak louder than words; I will remember in November. Will you?
