    Barney gets too frank

Barney Frank (who will never attain the coveted honor of being Liberal Rapture's "Gay of the Day". ) came right out and said it: Frank suggested to a local newspaper that Democrats should slash the defense budget by up to 25 percent and eventually may have to raise taxes on the rich.

It so odd being an anti-Obama liberal blogger. I don't have a huge problem with the rich paying more taxes. Cutting military spending at another point in our history would not bother me much either. What does bother me is the double timing being done by the Obama Democrats and the media. Imagine if Hillary Clinton had said she intended to cut the defense by 25% - Wolf Bliter would crack in half on the air. Then 100 little Blitzers would scamper about the cheap CNN set asking leading questions about America's vulnerability.

But Barney Frank, Obama Pod extraordinaire, will no doubt be ignored.

Personal interjection: I can't stop watching True Blood. And I know it is awful. If it was a sin to be hooked on really bad television I'd go to confession. I already know of at least one drinking game in which viewers chug every time a character says something stupid. I presume whoever plays is hammered after 20 minutes. When the Aryan blondie vampire king of the bayou asked to spend some time with the lead Suki this line was "acted" by her brooding vampire lover: Eric is sheriff of area 5. It is a position of great power among our kind."

    Cringe.

And yet - I can't stop watching. In fact, I hate that I have to wait a week between episodes.

Lunch Break- Why does CNN hate America? and Macbeth

Point made earlier on this blog worth repetition: The media has now spent more time examining Sarah Palin's daughter in one weekend that is has on William Ayres, long time associate of Barrack Obama and unrepentant terrorist - in 10 months.

    Why does CNN hate America?

As for today's clip, I fall to Will Shakespeare. Will S. knew everything that had ever happened or ever would happen - it's his world - we just alight in it - so where does 2008 land on the Shakespeare map?

For now, I am going with Macbeth - The angry driven wife, the narcissistic, parasitic husband with an undeserved sense of entitlement, the "witches" behind the scenes brewing chaos, - and the over all oddness of this year... all add up to Macbeth so far.

Here's a nice clip from an interesting version -of the moment Macbeth finds out is wife, Lady Macbeth, is dead. He comes to terms with the sudden, essential emptiness of their climb to power. As is often the case with Shakespeare, we all KNOW this speech with out knowing we know it - because he made it part of the atmosphere we breath...

    Sychophants, Democracy and You

I spent a lot of time joking around on this blog. "Obama Scriptures" etc - because if you lose your sense of humor - you have lost it all as far as I am concerned. But this next sentence is deadly serious: The American Media is doing real and lasting damage to the American republic by refusing to report on Senator Obama in a balanced manner and they should be held to account.

We have already seen what the overwhelmingly pro Obama and sexist media did to the best candidate during the primaries. The same unwillingness or inability to objectively question and report on Obama in a balanced manner is still occurring.
The lack of an independent press is as dangerous to a free country as voter fraud. CNN and MSNBC are the biggest culprits. Newsweek is an Obama rag at this point. Time is barely better. The New York Times continues its descent - most notably by refusing to publish John McCain's response to an Obama piece they did publish.
This is not Stalinist control of the media. It is simpler. The delusion Obama promotes among the "educated" class in America fits perfectly into the World view of many of those who call themselves "journalists." No one is stopping investigations by Time or Newsweek into William Ayres or Rezko or the Alice Palmer affair or a thousand other questionable parts of Obama's past. It is not being done because the journalists and their bosses don't want it done. They like him. Fine. This does not excuse journalistic malfeasance. The media is shameful. It has been for a while. But we are not talking about Natalie Holloway or Paris Hilton or O.J. These examples of media over indulgence did not affect all of us. The media kid glove treatment of Obama matters. We have every right to know what he has or has not done. Who he has associated himself with. Frankly, we have every right to look into his wife's past as well.

His idiotic trip overseas is over. In the U.S. it is called a success by our media.

Please note the foreign press IS investigating Obama. From the London Evening Standard: Barack Obama's broken promise to African village.

This article fits nicely with the Youtube below - Obama's broken promises to the indigent in his own district. Any sane person can see a pattern. Add the broken promises on FISA, public financing, and his backtrack on his own constituents regarding Exelon and nuclear power (Warning: link to Huffington!!!) and many others and what emerges is a self serving dilettante - not the man the media adores. It is testimony to how far the American media has sunk that blogs should be pointing this out - not the New York Times.
