Oh, Dr. Dean. You have destroyed the Democratic Party. What were you thinking telling us in Florida that we don't count? Michigan? Hail to the Conquering Hero's? No, you told them they don't matter either. I'm hoping for protests when Obama comes to campaign here. You wouldn't count our votes but you want to count our money? No thanks.

You wanted Senator Clinton to pull out to give you time to "heal" the party. Now the buzz is that Senator Clinton should stay in because it would be embarrassing for Obama if she wins Kentucky and West Virginia after pulling out. We can't have the golden child embarrassed can we?

I thought merit mattered. I thought experience mattered. You went another direction. You and Donna Brazille have pushed for Senator Obama to be the nominee and in a year where Democrats should blow the Republican nominee out of the water you've assured us another crushing defeat. Wow. I never would have thought of that.

Supposedly those of us who won't vote for Obama in the general election just feel this way because of the heat of the battle and we will come around come the fall. Good luck with that. We have been told that we are unimportant to the party. We're uneducated, we're not smart enough to see the greatness that is Obama. Yeah, it's going to take more than flowers to bring us back.

We have the most ridiculous method for choosing a nominee. Shouldn't we have a process that mirrors the general election? Might just give us an idea of who could win. If a candidate cannot win the big ones in the primary, California, New York, Florida, Texas (which I'll admit will probably be red) Massachusetts, how is he going to pull out a victory in November. Aren't most states winner take all in the general? Yet we have a convoluted "let's please everyone" system that is the equivalent of a gift bag for all at a six-year-old's birthday party. We can't have anyone's feelings be hurt. Don't get me started on Caucuses. We'll give you two hours to choose a candidate. It will be great. Oh, you can't make it because you have a job? These things happen.

I will give Obama credit for winning almost all the I's: Iowa, Illinois and Idaho. I'll give his campaign credit for being well run. We have seen that a well run campaign doesn't translate into a well run Executive Branch. Bush & Rove sure knew how to campaign; they had no idea how to govern.

I'll say to Senator Clinton - where was James Carville when you needed him? What were you thinking with Mark Penn? Why didn't you push back when it was obvious that the media was in the bag for Obama?

It's a sad day for us, as Democrats and former Democrats, that we started this process with a plethora of qualified candidates and we ended up with Obama.

Wow. Reverend Wright. How many groups of people can you insult? All of New England, Texans, Italians, Jews.

The same people who were defending Wright two weeks ago - WRIGHT IS RIGHT! - are now calling him a nut-job. Senator Obama says Wright is not the man he met twenty years ago. Reverend Wright is apparently a Power Ranger and has morphed before Obama's eyes! These are the same people who said Reverend Wright was taken out of context. Since he's repeated everything he said in those You Tube moments the argument has been proven incorrect.

Senator Obama said a month ago: "I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community." We are supposed to accept that he's had a change of heart. Is he now disowning the black community or is he a typical politician reacting to polls?

Senator Obama has said repeatedly that it's not just being ready on day one. It's having the judgement to do the right thing on day one. Senator Clinton voted for the war so she has bad judgement. we are not supposed to remember the climate of the country at the time or that her decision was based on bad intelligence or that she is a Senator from NEW YORK. We are supposed to take the giant leap that Senator Obama sat in church for twenty years, never heard Reverend Wright make any of these "controversial" statements and now, only now, realizes what a mad man Wright is. The same man he disinvited to his coming party because of his "controversial" statement he prayed with in the basement before announcing his candidacy.

What I LOVE is that Huffington Post, Cheetos and all the proud defenders of the Great One are now saying that we need to talk about ISSUES!! Which one? Hope, Change or Bosnia? They also know that Senator Obama is a good and honest man who has been hoodwinked by a man who is milking his fifteen minutes of fame. You see, they know Senator Obama better than Reverend Wright who has known him for twenty years. So when Wright says that Obama is just saying what he needs to say as a politician to get elected we're to believe that Wright is lying because his followers know him better!

The problem is that now his followers are too entrenched in their fantasy to see who he really is. Like Julia Roberts, they want the fairy tale. They cannot accept that maybe their hero is more than a little flawed.

So they excuse everything. He does poorly in debates. No More Debates! Looking down his nose at working class people - well, we're smarter and he's just telling the truth! Screwing Florida and Michigan - they broke the rules! What if it were their states? Running ads in Florida which broke the rules? Hillary was there on election day! (For a victory speech - not to campaign) Keith Olbermann saying that someone should take Hillary into a room and only he emerge? Keith is a God! Ayers. He's just a neighbor. Ayers is more than a neighbor? I'm waiting to see how they spin that. Rezko? He never did anything for him! Plagiarizing speeches? They're friends and share the same views. Randi Rhodes? Free Speech!

They're so invested they can't see that his stock has fallen like Bear Sterns. Keith Olbmerann, Huffington, Rich, Dowd and Matthews are not the Fed and there won't be enough credit available in the general election to bail him out.

Senator Obama needs to get a big coop (how fortunate that Rezko sold him back land for an extra big back yard), because the chickens have come home to roost.

This is rule Rule 11.A. of the Delegate Selection Rules for the 2008 Democratic National Convention:
A. No meetings, caucuses, conventions or primaries which constitute the first determining stage in the presidential nomination process (The date of the primary in primary states, and the date of the first tier caucus in caucus states ) may be held prior to the first Tuesday in February or after the second Tuesday in June in the calendar year of the national convention. Provided, however, that the Iowa precinct caucuses may be held no earlier than 22 days before the first Tuesday in February; that the Nevada first-tier caucuses may be held no earlier than 17 days before the first Tuesday in February; that the New Hampshire primary may be held no earlier than 14 days before the first Tuesday in February; and that the South Carolina primary may be held no earlier than 7 days before the first Tuesday in February. In no instance may a state which scheduled delegate selection procedures on or between the first Tuesday in February and the second Tuesday in June 1984 move out of compliance with the provisions of this rule.

Now - is this correct? Is this what the rules state? If so Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina violated the rules.

Miss Haley

From today's Lakeland Ledger:

"Hazel Haley, the Lakeland High School English teacher who was thought to have been the longest-serving teacher in the country, died at her home Monday, friends and colleagues said."

Miss Haley lived around the corner from me. I would meet her on her walks to the library. She still drove (a little scary) but "just to Publics, dear."

She taught more than 13,500 students. She was an amazing lady. (Sometimes a little racy, too!)

She also voted for Hillary Clinton in our primary. She couldn't stand Senator Obama.

Could we please allow her vote to count?

Obama freely took his name off the Michigan ballot

It is worth remembering that Obama took his name off the Michigan ballot. No one forced him. Now he wants to stop the re -vote. Why? He wants to silence the voices of 1.7 million Florida voters. He removed his own name from the Michigan ballot - removing any chance for his own voters to be heard. Now he is fighting a re-vote there. Why? The "new politician" label is yet another piece of Obama bullshit. You're as craven as Mayor Daley was.


Oh , and Barry - you did not get to choose your Grandmother. You did get to choose your pastor of 20 years. Using your dead Grandmother as a prop to make your excuse to the nation is rotten to the core.
