Mule Kick

Some - but not all - of the posts here will also appear here. A blog I am calling Mule Kick.

If one were checking boxes next to issues I am still firmly embedded in the "liberal" column - however I am increasing uncomfortable with the word liberal as the Pelosi/Obama/Reid train goes off the tracks in D.C. Oddly, I was fine with the word while the other side trashed it for 30 years. Fine and proud. BUT the current crop of alleged liberals in D.C. is too much to stomach.

I am also unwilling to give up the name "liberal rapture" - as
A. I love it.
B. A true muscular liberalism may one day return.
C. L.R. is a small but viable "brand" of sorts now.

The same number of posts will appear here as before.

I 'll be here and there....such is the nature of underemployment.

At any rate - I want to roam around a bit ideologically...

Request for donations

I rarely do this - but it is time. Sustaining this blog takes much time and it is not what I do for a living. (Fees from google ads are nominal for a blog this size.)

If you come by here regularly and get some food for thought, affirmation. or a laugh - please consider clicking the donate button at the top center of the page and sending whatever amount seems appropriate. 1.00 is fine. 2.00 is better....In fact if my daily regulars each donated 1 to 5 dollars it would have a huge impact for me about now. The slow down in the film business is as real as it is everywhere else...and I want to be able to continue L.R. - this takes avoiding a "set" or "desk" job.

...of course, much bigger amounts are fine too...

I want to thank all the readers of Liberal Rapture. This blog's traffic has gone up and up this year - and I am delighted, grateful and humbled by it. (Though, less than one percent of you post comments! Hey - lurkers, we want to hear from you too! Don't be shy!)
It has been a fascinating year. Painful for many. Misogyny and Homophobia were thrown into sharp relief - even as racism waned. (despite Axelrod's best efforts to fan the flames of faux racism.)

But it has also been fun for me. I have enjoyed blogging about BHO to a surprising degree. The PUMAs did great work in all the places that the media refused to investigate. It was not for naught. Our job is to watch closely. Unlike the Right - we will be able to put any Obama deceit or screwup or corruption into a non ideological CONTEXT for our readers and listeners.

We know
what
we know.

Anyway - not sure what i want to do with the midday post. "Obama Watch" will continue on this blog. At night, when i have time to read and write, L.R. will be chattering about the good, the bad and the ugly...(Michelle's dress last night??? What was that??)
I think I'll make the Gay of the Day the Gay of the Week.
And feature some local news or pics - FROM YOU GUYS - I love the photos that have been sent to me. Send local stories too. John@liberalrapture.com
