Obama insults the Special Olympics.
From Jake Tapper via No Quarter:
the president talked about how he's gotten better at bowling and has been practicing in the White House bowling alley. He bowled a 129, the president said.
"That's very good, Mr. President,"Leno said sarcastically. It's "like the Special Olympics or something," the president said.
Nice. I did not believe it was possible for me to be more disappointed with Obama - but this remark proves that assumption wrong.
Obama is obnoxious. His comment is...say it with me...tacky. The fact is, without a teleprompter Obama is often a mess. I could write a piece about what dorky comments like this mean about those who say them -"you're likable enough, Hillary" comes to mind - but it is already clear that he is an entitled brat who is usually the opposite of what he projects. Instead of belaboring that point - which will , I have no doubt, be proven over and over again in the the next four years, I'd rather say something about the Special Olympics.
If case you don't know:
From Wiki:
Anne McGlone Burke, a physical education teacher with the Chicago Park District, began with the idea for a one-time Olympic-style athletic competition for people with special needs. Burke then approached Eunice Kennedy Shriver, head of the Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. Foundation, to fund the event. Shriver encouraged Burke to expand on the idea and the JPK Foundation provided a grant of $25,000.
Since that time the Kennedys have been involved with the Special Olympics. Timothy Shriver is now the chairman of the board. California First Lady Maria Shriver is also active. Eunice Shriver and President Kennedy's sister Rosemary was mentally disabled. The Special Olympics have become an American institution and are a blessing to all who participate. They are, truly, a good thing.
Obama must apologize for his lunk headed, rude remark. Obama simply in not mature enough for his job. He is fast becoming unbearable.
I hope we all resist the impulse to mock Obama as mentally disabled himself - as I see no reason to insult the good people who participate in the Special Olympics further. Obama is a fool all by himself. He needs no help or simile.
I end with this question: Can anyone imagine Hillary Clinton saying something so stupid and insensitive as a joke?
