On being kept in a perpetual state of childishness.

It's not news for L.R. to insist that there is something fishy about Barack Obama. I've been doing it for over a year now. As this is an opinion blog, not a research blog, other blogs have shown the way in backing up the "fishy" allegations.

Something ain't right with Obama's narrative - that much is obvious to everyone who skipped the kool-aid. Too much is missing. Something also ain't right with his quick rise up the political ranks. It was too easy and too quick not to arouse suspicions. Alice Palmer and Jack Ryan being the most famous road kill on the Obama trail.

Cannonfire has been posting on the odd connections between Obama and the CIA over the past few months. The circumstantial evidence of a connection is compelling. The Cannonfire post today recounts this evidence. Please read it. It also contains the clip I've posted below - not to steal any thunder or jump on a bandwagon. I re-post the clip to make a point.

The speaker, John Pilger, is, in fact, a socialist. Given how willy nilly the word has been thrown about in this country over the summer it seems worth while to post a clip of an actual socialist. The views Pilger espouses in the clip are "far left" by American MSM standards. In most industrialized countries - especially Europe - they would merely be called "Leftist". He is not outrageous or insane. In fact, I suspect Ron Paul would find himself in much agreement with Pilger's criticism (though, there would be little agreement on solutions). With the expection of his view on Iran and Europe - I'm a hawk on Iran- there is nothing in this clip with which I disagree.

Additionally - and most importantly - his critique of Brand Obama is concise and specific.

    Flotsam and Jetsam

President elect Sunshine has arrived in D.C. and is actually saying something. I say GOOD. Much as I dislike the man, I do hope he hits the ground running.

I just can't figure if Obama is Bush 3 or Clinton 3. You decide.

3 more Clinton vets appointed to Justice.

    Checkmate in the cesspool.

President Sunshine is talking as noted above. But that does not mean he isn't taking a hit overseas for his silence on Gaza.

Thoughts on the morning after the morning after

*Mr. Blackwell died last week. A loss for the snarky gay man living in us all. Plus...well let's just say he'd a had a good four years.

*Tuesday night was not a landslide by any stretch of historical fact. McCain was clocked but there was no landslide which I would define as over 400 electoral college votes and at least a ten point difference in the popular vote. Going back to FDR -1932,36,40,44,52,56,64,72,80 and 84 were landslides. 1948, 60, 68,76,88,92,96,00,and 04 were not.

This is not to say that Obama does not have a mandate for change. He does. The length and breath of the mandate remain tenuous.

*I still hold to the theory that the GOP is just fine with losing this year. The 527s were useless. The RNC's attacks on Obama were tepid and intermittent. And the topper -McCain did not defend his VP choice or use his best ammo.

*Most interesting domestic battle ahead: The resurrection of the Fairness Doctrine. Will Reid/ Pelosi/Obama pull the trigger? Conservatives will fight the reinstitution of the Fairness Doctrine hammer and tongs. It would be politically unwise for the Democrats to bring this up soon. Clinton put gays in the military at the top of his list in 93. Conservatives did immediate damage. This would do the same type of damage to Obama in 09.

*Most interesting foreign policy battle ahead: Obviously, it is the mess in the Middle East. The addition of troops into Afghanistan will startle the peaceniks who believed Obama's advent meant the wars would be winding down. The CIA wants northern Pakistan on the table. They will get it and this happens - is already happening - via Afghanistan. This is one hell of a dangerous game. Can a man who ran against one war expand another? Pakistan and Iran's internal politics mean blow back. The CIA resents Bush's movement of the military from Afghanistan to Iraq. This may be the key to who is behind Obama. Frankly, Obama being an agency man may sound nuts - but it one of the few theories that explains his meteoric rise in total. No one does media like the CIA. Cannonfire is writing about this.

    * I am will be interested to see where the energy of the Obamabots will go now. My theory is that much of the white vote for Obama was an expulsion and an exorcism. An expulsion of everything W and an exorcism of lingering white guilt. This task is now complete. Certainly, they will root for his success but, contrary to recent appearances, a disengagement will occur within a year. Voting for the first black President was cool. "Cool" does not govern.

All depends on his abilities. I don't put as much stock as others into the "he will surround himself with smart people" meme. This is the fall back excuse when your candidate's resume is thin. Bushies used this line all the time in 2000. Look how that worked out. Certainly smart talented advisers are needed - in fact, it's an assumption - But administrations begin and end with the President. I have a theory that Cheney was acting as President between 2000 and 2004. He and Haliburton got what they wanted then Cheney retired to a back up role sometime after the 04 election. We actually saw W in action for the Shivo, Social Security and Katrina debacles.
Obama is not stupid. He won't be a titular head of government. He will, however, be restricted by those who brought him to the dance. No, I don't mean Axlerod and the Dailykos twerps. I mean Soros, Brzezinski and the rest of the unseen hands.

*Not sure why I did not think of posting this clip yesterday...
