Candidate Obama promised to repeal the "Defense of Marriage Act," which defines marriage as legal only between a man and a woman. He has reneged.

Once in office Obama's justified DOMA. Obama didn't just argue a technicality about the case, he argued that DOMA is reasonable.

Obama's lawyers went further than W's - invoking incest, rape and child molestation as reasons to uphold DOMA.
