The winner is: Hillary Clinton

She fought the entire media establishment, her own corrupt party, won every major primary except Illinois, received more votes than any other Democrat, and ended the year forming a remarkably powerful State Department. She enters 2009 on the verge of becoming the most powerful woman on earth.
