Time to stop having "wars on"

Now that the right wing has been shown to be wrong on Global Warming - (adding another item to the long list of Right Wing/Tory failure and stupidity - from slavery to suffrage to civil rights, the Right is always Wrong. ) Here our friends and enemies at the NYT give us a piece on global warming/climate change but call the human response to it a "war on warming."
It is not a war. War on warming implies some mysterious, dangerous force is threatening us and we must fight back. Climate change is not that mysterious anymore. We caused it - not some climate terror cell from Venus. It is very dangerous. But what we need to do is change, not fight. We need to communicate, move away from conflict - (even moving away from using war metaphors) - and toward community and compassion and intelligence. And we need to do it quickly. The truth of climate change is going from inconvenient to catastrophic.
